The Department of Posts celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm across the North Gujarat Region, symbolising unity, service and constitutional values. The National Flag was unfurled at all post offices in the region, reinforcing India Post’s enduring commitment to the nation and its people.

At the Gandhinagar Head Post Office, Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav unfurled the National Flag and extended heartfelt Republic Day greetings to postal officials and staff. The celebrations resonated with patriotic fervour through the National Anthem, Vande Mataram, patriotic songs and a deep sense of dedication towards national service.
On the occasion, Krishna Kumar Yadav interacted with beneficiaries of the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Postal Life Insurance and India Post Payments Bank, distributing passbooks and policy bonds, and reaffirming India Post’s vital role in last-mile delivery of welfare schemes. He also felicitated postal employees for their outstanding performance, motivating them to continue serving the nation with pride and professionalism.

Addressing the gathering, Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the 77th Republic Day reminds the nation of India’s long constitutional journey and the strength of its democracy. Highlighting the spirit of unity in diversity, he stated that in independent India, the Department of Posts has played an unparalleled role in connecting society and the nation.
Guided by the vision of “Dak Sewa Jan Sewa”, he said, India Post ensures last-mile connectivity and links citizens with welfare schemes, contributing significantly to the vision of a developed India, alongside Digital India, financial inclusion and a cashless economy. To meet the aspirations of youth and changing public needs, post offices are being transformed into N-GEN (Next GEN) post offices.
Emphasising constitutional values, he said it is essential to internalise the profound meaning of the Preamble, which begins with “We, the People of India.”
“These words represent the soul of our democracy, the foundation of our republic, and the fundamental values of our national life,” he said.

He further stated: “Republic Day is not just a festival, but a day to remember our duties towards the Constitution, democracy, and the nation.”
The day reminds every citizen of their responsibility to protect the Constitution, through which India adopted a democratic system guaranteeing welfare, equality and holistic development. He also referred to the special programmes organised at post offices to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram.
In his address, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Gandhinagar Division, Shishir Kumar, highlighted the historical and contemporary role of postal services in independent India. He said that every postal employee is an active participant in the nation-building process, strengthening the foundation of a strong, united and progressive India through daily service.
Later, Krishna Kumar Yadav also graced the Republic Day celebrations at the Speed Post Building, Shahibag, Ahmedabad, and felicitated employees from the Regional Office and Railway Mail Service for their exceptional contribution.
On the occasion, Senior Superintendent Piyush Rajak, Shishir Kumar, Assistant Director V. M. Vahora, Ritul Gandhi, Deputy Superintendent Dipak Vadher, IPPB Manager Niranjan Bhakta, Assistant Superintendent Preyal Shah, R A Shaikh, Parag Wasnik, S N Ghori, D P More, Hemant Kantar, Nitin Shendre, Dakshesh Chauhan, Jinesh Patel, Ronak Shah, Bhavin Prajapati, Postal Inspector V. K. Prajapati, Payal Patel, Sonal Desai, Yogendra Rathod, Chirag Suthar, Postmaster D. M. Rathod, along with other officials and their family members, participated enthusiastically and celebrated Republic Day with pride and patriotic spirit.
