Backed by a 70-year legacy in intralogistics, the business announced continued investments across its Chennai and Bengaluru manufacturing facilities to accelerate automation, precision engineering and digital manufacturing capabilities while preparing for demographic shifts that are expected to reduce the availability of younger workers over the next two to three decades.
Addressing the media during a factory visit in Chennai, Vikas Choudaha, Business Head, Storage Solutions Business, Godrej Enterprises Group, revealed that the company is planning to establish another manufacturing facility within a 50-60 km radius of Chennai, reflecting growing demand for advanced warehousing infrastructure.
With India’s economy being propelled by booming e-commerce, quick commerce and manufacturing sectors, warehousing has emerged as a strategic pillar for ensuring supply chain resilience, operational efficiency and global competitiveness.
Operating as an “industry of industries,” the Storage Solutions Business has built a leadership position by delivering cutting-edge storage and intralogistics systems that support businesses across multiple sectors and strengthen India’s industrial ecosystem.
Over the past 25 years, the Chennai facility has continuously expanded its engineering capabilities, evolving into a centre of excellence capable of delivering complex, large-scale intralogistics solutions with speed, precision and reliability, supported by a strong network of customers, suppliers and technology partners.
Today, the facility ranks among Asia’s largest and most technologically advanced intralogistics manufacturing plants, producing high-precision automated systems designed for high-density warehousing environments where space optimisation and operational efficiency are paramount.
