To express gratitude to frontline COVID Warriors like doctors, healthcare providers, caregivers, policemen and journalists for their selfless service to the society during the COVID-19 pandemic. World Peace and Diplomacy Organization has joined hands with chocolate and chewing gum manufacturing giant Mars Wrigley, and Sankalp Beautiful World on Monday and kicked off ‘Be the Reason for a Smile’ Campaign in Ahmedabad.

“Healthcare workers policemen and journalists have been on the frontline of the current crisis to ensure the safety and well-being of others. In an effort to appreciate and acknowledge their relentless spirit and hard work, World Peace and Diplomacy Organization handed over a token of gratitude, including Mars Wrigley products, to the heads of government- and AMC-run hospitals, Ahmedabad police, and journalists,” said Dr GD Singh, Founder & President, World Peace and Diplomacy Organization, Founder-Trustee, Confederation of Indian Healthcare Foundation (CIHF).

Elaborating on this initiative, Dr Singh said that the campaign has been launched at the national level with the help of other supporting NGOs in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin, Kolkata, and other places. In Kolkata, Indian cricket board president Sourav Ganguly’s Foundation has joined hands with us in ‘Be the Reason for a Smile’ Campaign. This is being done by the World Peace and Diplomacy Organization coordinated by Born to Win NGOs.

WPDO launches campaign against single-use plastic
“World Peace and Diplomacy Organization, one of the 3,500 NGOs recognised by the UNO, has also commenced its plastic-free campaign this month as land & water are polluted due to plastic. We are working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, under which the entire month of July we will run our campaign on social media. Let’s connect with over 150 million people around the world and be a part of Plastic-Free July to see a clean and healthy tomorrow,” Dr Singh added.
