The India SME Forum (ISF), India’s largest non-governmental, not for profit organisation for small and medium businesses, on Thursday announced that it is starting a digitization drive for retailers and traders. The initiative will kick-start from the Future Proofing Retail Summit on Tuesday, 30th August, 2022, in Ahmedabad, supported by Businesswise, and will extend to multiple cities in the coming months.
The digitization drive will witness participation from industry experts, traders, retailers, CXOs, and academicians, among others, to educate the retailers on the opportunities available and future-proof their firm by restructuring outdated supply chains, managing inventory efficiently, reviewing pricing strategies, understanding finance and payment processes, and reinventing the physical shop for the digital era. It will also act as a consultant to the state and central government, offering critical insights on the challenges faced by the seller community. Speaking on this, Vinod Kumar, President, India SME Forum, said, “E-commerce has widened the scope of business for India’s retail industry. Retailers now need to step forward to adapt to the changing needs and rising expectation of today’s consumer, who now prefers a faster, better and more economical shopping experience on online as well as offline front. Consumers love and preference for online shopping is great and that is an area of opportunity for sellers..”

This will also be followed by a consultative roundtable and a press conference with office bearers from over 80 trader and retailer organisations from Gujarat to discuss short-term and long-term asks from the state and central government.
The Summit will also include speed mentoring sessions by retail industry experts and veterans and a showcase of innovative, products & services for retailers and sellers which will run in parallel during the summit.
