The 5th edition of REFCOLD India, South Asia’s largest exhibition and conference on refrigeration and cold chain industry solutions, will take place at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar from December 8 to 10, 2022.
REFCOLD India is an initiative of The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), which has over 44 chapters and nearly 30,000 professional members. ISHRAE is also launching international chapters in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Abu Dhabi. ISHRAE has been actively working towards the growth of the refrigeration and cold chain industry with the aim of bringing the best technology solutions and enhancing the sector’s growth.
REFCOLD India will bring together Indian and international refrigeration industry stakeholders, and usher in innovation in technology that works on eliminating food wastage. Cold Chain management has become an integral part of the supply chain industry comprising refrigerated storage and refrigerated transportation.
The Refrigeration and Cold Chain industry is growing at a fast rate due to the shift in focus from increasing production to better storage of commodities to reduce wastage of agricultural produce and other perishable products.
The global cold chain market is expected to grow from $4.4 billion in 2020 to $13.8 billion by 2028, a CAGR of 15.8%. The Indian cold chain market is expected to grow more than double from Rs. 1.28 lakh crore in 2022 to Rs. 2.86 lakh crore in 2027 at a CAGR of 14.3%, offering immense potential for the Refrigeration and Cold Chain industry.
With its refrigerated transportation and cold storage technology, the cold chain industry has shown its importance and necessity during the Covid-19 pandemic for effective vaccine supply chain.
By connecting cold chain and refrigeration industry suppliers and buyers, REFCOLD India will provide multiple networking opportunities for developing strategic alliances with prospective buyers.
“REFCOLD India will bring together all sections of the refrigeration and cold chain industry under one roof. It is also the only exhibition focusing on industrial refrigeration along with the cold chain and reefer transportation. We have received tremendous response from exhibitors and are confident that it will once again be a highly successful event,” said NS Chandrasekar, National President, ISHRAE.
Industry specific seminars and workshops on Refrigeration and Cold Chain for Pharma, Dairy, Fisheries, and Hospitality will also be organised as a part of the three-day event.
A dedicated startup pavilion recognising innovative products and technology of startups will also be a part of the exhibition. Delegations from IIR Paris, China, Turkey, AHPNW – Japan and others will also take part in the event. Leading industry experts from across the globe will showcase successful case studies and business models at the Entrepreneurs’ Conclave. REFCOLD India will also host a focused dialogue on the vaccine cold chain, and alternative solutions for developing countries with some or limited infrastructure.
“We are expecting more than 10,000 visitors from sectors such as food manufacturers & supply, meat and dairy, frozen and chilled foods, wholesale distribution & retail, reefer transportation, pharma & healthcare, ports, shipping companies, and many others to visit REFCOLD India and witness some of the latest technologies and innovations in the Refrigeration and Cold Chain industry,” said Pankaj Dharkar, Chairman, REFCOLD India.

These organisations will be holding sessions at the conference, covering varied subjects and facilitating interaction and dialogue between the participants.
Organised by ISHRAE in association with Radeecal Communications, one of India’s leading exhibitions organising companies, the event will also see technical workshops, panel discussions, and knowledge-sharing programmes.
