Having served well Ahmedabad, the medical capital of India, with two hospitals in Vastrapur and Bapunagar, in western and eastern parts of the city in a short span of six years, GastroPlus Digestive Disease Centre and Advanced Endoscopy Hospital opened its third unit in Bopal on Friday, announced its founders.
With Ahmedabad city growing leaps and pounds, to cater to the needs of gastro patients in their locality, GastroPlus DDC’s third unit is ideally located at 1st Floor, Amrapali Axiom, Sardar Patel Ring Road, Bopal-Ambli Road Junction, Bopal.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Dr Sandip P Shah, senior gastroenterologist, said, “GastroPlus Digestive Disease Centre is a “state of art” centre, providing comprehensive gastrointestinal care through newer modalities of GI Care, dedicated GI Physiological unit at par with world class facilities and advanced GI Surgery department. Out of the top 5 GI hospitals, GastroPlus remains numero uno in Gujarat. In a first in Gujarat, our hospital has endoscopy, colonoscopy, advanced endoscopy, hydrogen breath test, advanced liver fibrosis test facilities. Our team has treated over 1.5 lakh patients, performed over 200 GI surgeries.”
Shah further added that alcoholism, junk food, uncontrolled diabetes affect youth in the age group of 40 + and people in the age group of 50 to 70 get largely affected by liver related diseases in Gujarat.
Answering a query on liver transplant and liver donation. Dr Shah said the government has taken various initiatives to create awareness on these vital healthcare issues and now it has started paying rich dividends.
Dr Ram Parihar spoke at length on monsoon blues like jaundice, Hepatitis or inflammation of the liver and their prevention, including vaccinations available. He stressed on the need to avoid liquor.
Dr Mayur Patel , Dr Krunal Bharadawaj, Dr Ravindra Gaadhe and Dr Rashesh Solanki also spoke on various gastro diseases and their treatments.
