After jointly delivering a box-office hit, Aankhen, Bollywood director and producer Gaurang Doshi and filmmaker Neeraj Pathak are coming together again for their next project titled Happy Anniversary. A family entertainer with a generous dollop of comedy and romance.
Commenting on their second collaboration, Gaurang Doshi says, “Neeraj has a very unique style of writing and a clear vision. It is always a delight for me to work with him because we are on the same wavelength, so our co-ordination is almost telepathic. Happy Anniversary is a story based in today’s times, and it was imperative that the entire team is on the same page about the film.”
Elated to be working with Doshi after many years, Neeraj Pathak says, “Gaurang is like a brother to me and we were like two peas in a pod during Aankhen. I always wanted to work with him as a director. He is creatively evolved and he knows how best to finance a project. To create a feel-good film like Happy Anniversary, he makes sure we are all at our best during the shoot.”
Throwing some light on the film, he adds, “Happy Anniversary is about celebrating relationships as they are today. Times have changed and we look at relationships differently today. The film is based on this change.”
Gaurang Doshi has proved his mettle — his masterpieces such as Aankhen, Deewaar: Let’s Bring Our Heroes Home and Bawander have always stood out He has even managed to win four Limca Book records for his eccentric work. He inherited the art of filmmaking at a young age from his father late Vinod Doshi, who gave audiences, hits like Saccha Jhootha, Naastik, Dil, Beta & many more under the banner of VR Pictures. Now being at the helm himself, Gaurang aims to deliver more unconventional content under his newly incarnated Gaurang Doshi Productions breaking more records like never before.
