To mark the ‘World Liver Day (April 19)’, GEM Hospitals, Chennai – leader in Gastroenterology, laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeries on Wednesday announced the launching of an exclusive ‘Fatty Liver Clinic’ at its Perungudi facility here.
Launching the ‘Fatty Liver Clinic’ Dr P Senthilnathan, Director – GEM Hospital Chennai said, “As we always say ‘Prevention is better than cure’, people can make use of this free consultation camp to get to know about their present liver condition. Early detection of disease will help the patients to get the right treatment at the right time which will eventually avoid any unforeseen circumstances.”

Reply to queries, Dr Senthilnathan said, “There are no symptoms for Fatty Liver, even normal personal will have fatty liver. However, the damage will be considerably low when compared to alcohol addicts. Recent study shows that 40 per cent of diabetic patients are prone to fatty liver. Hence, it is essential for everyone to undergo liver test at least twice in a year.”
Dr Senthilnathan also said that the hospital will launch Mobile Applications to create awareness on Fatty Liver and other diseases in another 6 months.
To mark the ‘World Liver Day’ the hospital announces launching ‘Free Liver Camp’ from April 24 to May 4, 2024 and ‘Know Your Liver’ Initiative.
“Specialists team led by Dr Vinoth Kumar, Medical Gastroenterologist; Dr Magnus Jayaraj, Liver Transplant Surgeon will provide comprehensive liver related treatment for those who participate in the camp,” Dr Senthilnathan added.
