Gleneagles Global Health City (GGHC), Perumbakkam, one of the leading multi-specialty quaternary healthcare centers in Chennai, felicitated over 100 teachers under its Guru Devo Bhavo initiative here on Saturday.
The teachers were selected from 40 schools under the jurisdiction of Tambaram Municipal Corporation for their immense contribution to the society.
Teachers were handed over mementos and health coupons by GGHC’s Academic Director Dr Immanuel in the presence of Vice President (Corporate Relations) Bhaskar Reddy Vaka. The occasion also marked the unveiling of a special privilege card for all teachers under the ‘Guru Devo Bhavo’ initiative of the GGHC.

Academic Director Dr Immanuel welcomed the teachers with anecdotes from leading educationists and statesmen.
Appreciating the hospital’s initiative, Bhaskar Reddy Vaka said, “Teachers are the harbingers of human development. It is each and every one’s responsibility to take care of these teachers and their interests. It is heartening to see GGHC acknowledging and felicitating them by offering them benefits for their health.”
He said, as part of the ‘Guru Devo Bhava’ initiative, the hospital felicitated teachers as ‘knowledge champions’, presented them with a memento, and offered them a complimentary health check-up benefits card.
Features of privilege card
The privilege card entails discounts on Specialist Consultation of up to 30%, 20% on Lab and Radiology investigations, and 20% Couple of health checks. Additionally, they will be provided a complimentary 2nd opinion consultation, free home sample collection within a 10-km radius, free home delivery of medicines within a 5-km radius, free ambulance services for all the IP services within a 15-km radius along with a green channel privilege for all the OP and IP Services. Under this membership, all registered family members (Single/Married Couples with two children below 18 years and parents) enrolled can avail these benefits.
Reddy said, “The pandemic has brought to the forefront the importance of teachers over the last 24 months. It is the teachers who have been the essential pillars of development. Today the healthcare fraternity would like to acknowledge their magnanimous role in society.”
