In a powerful stride toward shaping a future-ready rural workforce, GHCL Foundation, the CSR arm of GHCL Limited, has empowered over 5,500 youth across Gujarat through its network of Vocational Training Institutes (VTIs). These institutes are equipping young people — particularly women — with industry-relevant skills and pathways to dignified employment, driving self-reliance and community transformation.
Since the launch of its first VTI in Jafrabad, Amreli district, in 2016, GHCL Foundation has expanded to seven additional centres across Sutrapada (Gir Somnath), Port Victor (Amreli), Gadu (Junagadh), Talala (Gir Somnath), Mota Layja (Kutch), Kaj (Junagadh), and Prachi (Gir Somnath). Working in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the initiative aligns closely with the Government of India’s Skill India Mission.

The VTIs adopt a 360° training model — combining technical expertise, soft skills, and industry readiness — ensuring participants are not only employable but also adaptable in an evolving job market. Courses offered include BPO operations, electrical assistance, nursing, sewing, and fitting & fabrication, designed to match real-time market needs.
Reflecting the Foundation’s emphasis on inclusion, 65% of the trained candidates are girls, many of whom have gone on to secure formal employment in industries previously beyond their reach.
“As a responsible corporate citizen, GHCL is committed to community development in the areas where we operate. Our VTIs are founded on the belief that skills are the strongest currency for youth empowerment. By creating industry-ready talent, we are enhancing livelihoods while contributing to India’s skilled workforce. The successful placement of our students demonstrates the power of sustained commitment and strong community partnerships,” said N. N. Radia, Chairman, GHCL Foundation.
Graduates from GHCL Foundation’s VTIs have secured employment in leading organizations such as Adani Group, Arvind Mills, Hyundai Motors India Limited, BKT Tyres, and Aayush Hospitals, earning average monthly salaries ranging from ₹9,500 to ₹16,500. Courses in BPO, electrical assistance, and nursing have achieved the highest placement rates, highlighting the program’s strong industry alignment.
The Foundation’s success is powered by partnerships with over 350 companies and hospitals, including Welspun, Just Dial, Sky Textiles, Adani Solar, German Calibration Lab, Varmora Tiles, Balaji Wafers, Hyundai, Harshal Engineering, BKT, and Shaktiman. These collaborations help keep the curriculum relevant and responsive to the dynamic demands of the job market.
Looking ahead, GHCL Foundation is set to further expand its vocational training footprint across Gujarat, ensuring that every aspiring youth — especially young women from rural areas — gains the skills, confidence, and opportunity to thrive.
Through this sustained effort, GHCL Foundation continues to prove that “Skill is the new strength” — empowering India’s youth to become agents of economic growth and inclusive development.
