Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City)—India’s maiden International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) and a project of national importance—has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to strengthen industry-academia collaboration in the fields of IFSC education, FinTech innovation, and research here on Tuesday.
As part of the collaboration, both institutions will jointly develop specialised courses, training programmes, certification modules, and a dedicated Centre of Excellence focused on opportunities in GIFT IFSC and emerging trends in financial technology.
Sanjay Kaul, MD & Group CEO, GIFT City, said: “We are witnessing significant traction from leading financial and tech entities to set-up their base in GIFT City. This collaboration with GTU will help towards creating a future-ready talent pool that can contribute meaningfully to the growth and strengthening India’s position in the global financial and tech ecosystem.”
Commenting on this, Dr. Rajul K. Gajjar, Vice-Chancellor, GTU, said: “By combining GTU’s academic expertise with GIFT City’s industry leadership, we aim to offer students and professionals unmatched exposure to global financial markets and technologies.”
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both organisations, marking the beginning of a multi-faceted engagement that will integrate education, research, and industry linkages. The partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in building skilled talent, driving innovation, and further enhancing Gujarat’s position as an emerging global financial hub.
