General Officer Commanding of Konark Corps Lieutenant General Anil Puri flagged in the “Konark Desert Bicycle Expedition March 2020” team at Jodhpur on Wednesday, a Defence release said.

After completing an arduous and fulfilling journey of 1,750 Km over the rugged rural terrain along with the border areas of the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat across the Desert Sector, Rann till the Arabian Sea, the team finally reached its destination at Jodhpur on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.
The team was flagged In by Lieutenant General Anil Puri, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding Konark Corps.

Since the year 2020 has been declared by the Indian Army as the ‘Year of Next of Kin’ (NOK), Konark Corps Bicycle Expedition interacted and felicitated Veer Naris, Next of Kin and Ex-Servicemen en route. The team during its journey interacted with the Ex-servicemen and felicitated Veer Naaris at Phalodi Road, Pokhran, Jaisalmer, Jasai, Suigam, Bhuj, Santalpur, Abu Road, Pali, and Jodhpur and also collected various details of problems/ issues being faced by them.

The team also visited various schools and inspired the students to join the illustrious Indian Army. The tour also instilled a sense of awareness and national integration amongst the youth of these areas.
