Golden Katar Divn conducts ‘Know Your Army’ for faculty, students of IIM Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD, JAN 25

The Golden Katar Division of the Indian Army conducted ‘Know your Army’ event at IIM Ahmedabad on Saturday on the request of officers of Armed Forces Programme (AFP) – 19 for the benefit of faculty and students, a Defence PRO release said.

The show stoppers are the two military bands-Maratha and Gorkha- which apart from playing martial tunes also perform the drummers’ call. – NE photo

The event was also open to the students of other colleges and the general public. The event comprised band display from Maratha Band and Gorkha Band and a plethora of weapons and equipment display which are used up to battalion level by the infantry and other support equipment being used by Corps of Engineers, Signals, Medical, and EME.

The event was a first-of-its-kind which generated enthusiasm in people across all age groups and professions.

The Armed Forces Program (AFP) is a full-time residential Business Management Certification Course held at IIM Ahmedabad for selected officers of the Armed Forces which allows them to graduate from military life to the corporate world. The present AFP commenced in Oct 2019 and will be concluding on March 2020.
