The importance of good content to attract the target audience and customers cannot be stressed enough, and while original content is important on digital platforms, smartly curated content can also help in building credibility and leads, top experts opined at an insightful roundtable organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) here on Friday.
“Original content can help you emerge as a thought leader and build your online presence. The curated content also offers advantages such as improving Search Engine Optimization, building credibility, lead generation, and tuning up with social media marketing,” said Hemaang Gandhi, Founder & CEO of city-based advertising agency, Rioconn Interactive at the roundtable on “Value Creation Through Curated Content For SMEs And Startups” on Friday evening by the Special Interest Group (SIG) on Digital & Marcom at ‘The Indus Entrepreneurs’ (TiE) Ahmedabad held in the auditorium of CIIE, IIM new campus.
Gandhi also stressed the importance of having the right social media calendar comprising both original and the curated content.
Shaival Desai, VP, Advanced Products and Marketing at city-based restaurant-tech startup Petpooja, said creating quality content that gets consumed requires creativity, deep domain knowledge, research, time, resources, and is tough.
“The Internet is flooded with content, and you may not need to create more original content. But, niche is a must, and you must focus on what you are best at. Efforts to market the content are also a must because even quality content that is not consumed is as good as no content,” he said.
Akshay Sethia, CEO, Dezine Brainz Digital and Program Lead of the TiE roundtable, said as technology evolves, how content is consumed is also changing. Still, the fact that the content has to be top-notch remains unchanged.
In his opening remarks, Shailesh Goyal, Chair of TiE Ahmedabad’s Special Interest Group on Digital and MarCOM, said, “Content is the king. It is imperative to have high-quality content to engage with the audience and sustain their interest meaningfully.”
The expert speakers at the roundtable also shared examples of many companies and individuals who have gained a significant following and traction through content curation.
