Gopal Snacks, one of India’s fastest-growing and most trusted names in the organised traditional snacks sector, has commenced commercial-scale namkeen production at its Modasa manufacturing facility in North Gujarat. The Modasa plant — earlier focused on potato wafers and fryums — has now been upgraded and expanded to align with the company’s national growth strategy.
With this expansion, Modasa joins Gopal’s Rajkot and Nagpur plants in producing a wide range of namkeens, strengthening operational synergies and enabling faster, more efficient supply to high-demand markets in the northern and western regions of India.
“We see this expansion as a vital step in meeting the rising demand for our products across India,” said Raj Hadvani, Whole-Time Director and CEO, Gopal Snacks. “By producing most of our namkeen range at both Rajkot and Modasa, we can serve distributors quicker, deepen our presence in new markets, and continue delivering high-quality products our customers trust.”
Strategically located in Modasa — an agriculturally rich belt — the facility sources key raw materials such as potatoes, peanuts and black gram directly from local farmers. Supporting production continuity is a 40,000 MT cold storage hub, ensuring stable raw material availability throughout the year.
Post-expansion, the Modasa unit now operates at an enhanced 200 MT per day capacity, backed by infrastructure upgrades, process optimisation and automation driven by the company’s in-house engineering teams.
The new namkeen line strengthens Gopal Snacks’ long-term growth plan by improving market reach, ensuring consistent product availability and enabling quicker, more reliable distribution across Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and other high-potential markets in North and West India.
