Having hosted the MWC2021 at Barcelona as an in-person and hybrid event, GSMA is going ahead with its North American event MWCLA21, in Partnership with CTIA. The event will be live and in-person this October.
Taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from October 26 to 28, the theme of this year’s event is Connected Impact. The program will explore how 5G Era, IoT Connectivity, Telco Cloud and Disruptive Innovation are shaping the future and continuing to transform lives.

“MWC Los Angeles is the must-attend tech industry event of the Americas and, we are very much looking forward to returning to California. It will provide a platform for people to come together to push the industry and society forward,” according to John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA Ltd.

For those who missed or could not attend the Barcelona conference, this event will provide an opportunity to learn about the recent developments in 5G technology. I am looking forward to attending the LA event, said Raman Narayanan of PathPartnerTechnology, in Bay Area. Chandra Mohan of Ctela who is into 5G consulting echoed similar views saying it is a must-attend for the professionals.
California has already started to reopen and, the GSMA is working closely with the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board and the LACC to ensure MWCLA21 can go ahead safely.
GSMA shared details of the health and safety plan for MWC Los Angele. The plan incorporates a layered approach leveraging the successful delivery of MWC Barcelona 2021 this past June, the world’s first large-scale event to come together globally since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. The experience and execution of MWC21 form the basis of Committed Community MWCLA, tailored for current and local circumstances.
Our focus will be delivering an unprecedented, attention-grabbing display of next-level innovation, emerging technology and, ground-breaking products and services, according to GSMA.
Portugal-based startup ILoF was crowned the winner of the 4YFN Impact Awards Barcelona 2021, after battling it out with five finalists on stage. 4YFN is the startup event of the GSMA.India’s Yabx was one of the finalists.
Long-time GSMA members, T-Mobile and Verizon will be the lead event sponsors. Verizon will be the official Event 5G Partner and T-Mobile will be the official Event Carrier Partner. The Disruptive Innovation Theme Partner will be ServiceNow.
