Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid glowing tributes to the brave personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on its Raising Day, lauding their courage, dedication and selfless service in safeguarding lives during the nation’s darkest hours.

Extending greetings in a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “On the Raising Day of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), we extend our deepest appreciation to the men and women whose professionalism and resolve stand tall in moments of crisis. Always at the forefront when a calamity strikes, NDRF personnel work tirelessly to protect lives, provide relief and restore hope under the most challenging circumstances. Their skills and sense of duty exemplify the highest standards of service. Over the years, the NDRF has emerged as a benchmark in disaster preparedness and response, earning much respect internationally.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah described the NDRF as the nation’s “pillar of trust” during disasters and a key force in realising the Modi government’s vision of a disaster-resilient India.

In his message on X, Shah said, “Warm greetings to the personnel of NDRF on Raising Day. Salute to the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the safety of others.”
Over the years, the NDRF has carved out a formidable reputation for swift, professional and humane response to natural and man-made disasters, including floods, cyclones, earthquakes and industrial accidents. Its highly trained teams, equipped with specialised skills and modern technology, have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to operate in the most hostile and challenging environments.
