- Rajasthan Mahotsav’s Holi Sammelan will be held at Ahmedabad Haat, Vastrapur, From Friday to Tuesday, March 29 to April 2 from 6 pm onwards

- On the occasion of Rajasthan Foundation Day, Saturday, on 30th March special Rajasthani Ghumar Dance, Ghair Nritya, Folk Dance will be performed by famous artists of Rajasthan

With an aim to preserve and propagate “Our Culture, Our Pride” in Karmabhumi Gujarat, Gujaraj Foundation Gujarat Rajasthan Maitri Sangh is celebrating the Rajasthan Mahotsav by organizing a unique Holi Milan Mela – a five-day fair in Ahmedabad Haat, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad from Friday to Tuesday-March 29 to April 2. While the festival of Holi is like New Year for Marwari society, the 75th Anniversary of Rajasthan Foundation Day falls on Saturday, March 30. We have planned to celebrate both the events in a grand and befitting manner, said Narendra Singh Purohit, programme coordinator here on Wednesday.
Throwing light on this gala celebration, Narendra Purohit, said, “Our organization has been functioning for the last 11 years in Ahmedabad. This city has a population of over 10 lakh Rajasthanis who have been contributing a lot for its all-round development. The five-day fair is aimed at giving an opportunity to artisans of Rajasthan, especially women, to sell their products directly to customers and to bring together not only the Marwari community but all in the Vibrant City of Ahmedabad. The event is expected to have a footfall of around 20K to 25K visitors.”
The 5-day fair will have around 100 stalls in which various products of Rajasthan will be exhibited and sold to provide employment to the women and workers. Many cultural programs like Rajasthan’s popular Gair dance, Kalbeliya dance, colorful cultural evening, folk dance will be performed on Saturday, 30th March, Rajasthan Foundation Day. Many renowned artists like Rajavardhan Suthar and his team will enthrall the audience, added Purohit.
A special housie game will be organised on Sunday, 31st March. Apart from this, there will be many attractions, including Fancy Dress Competition, Kavi Sammelan, Mehndi Competition, Painting Competition etc. Another special attraction is that a special Golgappa competition for women will be organized on the auspicious occasion of Sheetla Satam on Monday, 1st April.
During all these 5 days there will be a medical camp, a blood donation camp, free glasses distribution etc. for the betterment of the society.
The leaders of the society have made full preparations for the grand and divine “Our Culture, Our Pride” program.
