Gujarat reported 380 fresh coronavirus positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 2,59,867, the state health department said on Tuesday.
With two more persons succumbing to the viral disease, the toll in the state went up to 4,381, it said in a release.
A total of 637 people were discharged during the day, taking the count of recoveries in Gujarat to 2,51,400, the department said, adding that there are 4,086 active cases.
Gujarat”s case recovery rate has improved to 96.74 percent, said the release.
At 89, the Ahmedabad district recorded the highest number of new cases in the state in the day, taking the tally to 61,695. With one death due to COVID-19, Ahmedabad”s fatality count has gone up to 2,290. A total of 160 patients from the district were discharged in the last 24 hours.
Surat district reported 81 new cases, taking the tally to 51,955 while l94 persons were discharged, it said.
Vadodara and Rajkot district reported 85 and 48 new coronavirus cases, respectively.

Data on new tests and the overall number of the samples tested in Gujarat is not released.
In the Union Territory of Dadra, Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu, one more person tested positive for coronavirus while one patient recovered in the last 24 hours.
Of the 3,364 persons found positive for coronavirus in the UT so far, two patients have died while 3,358 others have recovered. The UT has four active cases at present, officials said.
