The most worrying is that although Ahmedabad’s contribution to the total positive cases is coming down from over 80 percent to presently around 70 percent, its death toll seems to remain steady.

Despite the share of Corona positive cases from Ahmedabad having come down to 71.09 per cent, the death toll rate of the city remained the same, at around 82 per cent. Till date, 1,066 have died in Ahmedabad, followed by 84 in Surat, 45 in Vadodara, 18 in Gandhinagar, 11 in Anand, 10 in Bhavnagar, eight each in Panchmahals, Aravalli and Mahesana and seven in Patan.
Of the total cases, Ahmedabad continued to lead the state with 14,962, followed by Surat with 2,208, Vadodara with 1,360, Gandhinagar with 432, Mahesana with 161, Bhavnagar and Banaskantha with 146 each, Rajkot with 133, Sabarkantha with 128, Aravalli with 120, Mahisagar with 116, Anand with 115, Panchmahals with 108, Patan with 106, Kheda with 93, Kutch with 91, Jamnagar with 66, Botad and Bharuch with 60 each, Valsad with 57 and Surendranagar with 56.

“I don’t have any symptoms now after I tested positive a few days ago. I felt some symptoms so I got myself tested and the result was positive. On doctors’ advise, I was home quarantined and I am fine now. I will return to work in about a week after getting a negative test result. Together we will fight against the pandemic and win,” Shukla was quoted as saying by Times if India.
