Gujarat reported 675 new coronavirus positive cases on Saturday, increasing the tally of cases in the state to 2,51,273, the state health department said.

With five deaths, the COVID-19 fatality count in the state rose to 4,340, it said.
As many as 851 patients were discharged, taking the total of recovered persons in the state to 2,38,965, the department said in its release.
With this, the state’s recovery rate went up to 95.10 percent.
As many as 47,506 tests were conducted for the virus on Saturday, increasing the total number of samples tested so far to 1,01,01,064.
There are now 7,968 active cases in the state, out of which 59 patients are in critical condition, said the department.
Ahmedabad recorded 129 new cases, the highest in the state, followed by Surat with 123, Vadodara 121, and Rajkot with 90 cases.
Among other districts, Junagadh reported 22 new cases, Jamnagar 20, Mehsana 17, Kutch 16, Gandhinagar 14, Gir Somnath 13, Dahod and Kheda 12 each, and Panchmahal 10.
Out of five deaths, Ahmedabad reported two and Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot one each.
In the Union Territory of Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the number of recovered cases rose to 3,345 with one more patient getting discharged, while the total number of COVID-19 cases remained the same at 3,352.
There are five active cases in the UT, which has so far reported two deaths, officials said.

Ahmedabad records 129 fresh cases; two more deaths
As many as 129 persons tested positive for coronavirus, while two died of the infection in Ahmedabad district on Saturday, an official from the state health department said.
With the last additions, the COVID-19 tally in the district reached 59,915 and the toll stood at 2,267, the official said.
At least 151 patients were discharged from various treatment facilities during that day, taking the total number of recovered cases here to 53,816, he said.
Of the fresh cases, 125 were reported from Ahmedabad city and four were detected in the rural parts of the district, the official said.
Considering a drop in the active cases, all micro-containment areas have been removed in the city, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said.
With 432 infections, the city’s south zone has reported the highest number of active cases, followed by the west zone with 412 cases, the north-west zone with 373 and the south-west zone with 346, the AMC said.
There are currently 2,366 active cases in the city, which has reported 2,211 deaths so far, the civic body said.
Surat sees 123 COVID-19 cases, 1 death, 159 recoveries
The number of COVID-19 cases in Surat rose to 50,375 after 123 people were detected with the virus on Saturday, while one death and 159 recoveries were also reported during the day, an official said.
The toll in the district is now 1,143, he added.
“Surat city accounted for 101 of the new cases and 134 of the people discharged. The rest came from rural areas. So far, 36,394 people have been discharged in Surat city, giving it a recovery rate of 96.13 percent,” he said.
“The number of people hospitalised in civic limits is 194, including 61 in government-run civil and SMIMER hospitals, which have bed occupancy rates of 1.7 and 2.9 percent respectively,” he added.
The number of people quarantined in the city is 7,575.
The city’s Athwa locality leads with 7,311 cases, followed by Katargam with 6,104 cases, while Kamrej has the highest infection count in rural areas with 2,594 cases.
