Gujarat’s tally of coronavirus positive cases rose to 2,47,228 on Sunday with the addition of 715 fresh infections, the state health department said.
With four more deaths, including two in Ahmedabad, the overall number of people who have succumbed to the viral disease in the state went up to 4,318, it said.
A total of 938 patients were discharged from various hospitals during the day, taking the count of recoveries in Gujarat to 2,33,660, the health department said in a release.
With 51,384 new tests for coronavirus, the total number of samples tested so far in Gujarat has gone up to 98,10,664.
Ahmedabad reported 151 new coronavirus positive cases, followed by Vadodara 134, Surat 127, and Rajkot 76.
Among other districts, Kutch reported 32 cases, Gandhinagar 21, Anand 17, Bharuch and Jamnagar 15 each, Mehsana and Panchmahal 14 each, Morbi and Junagadh 13 each, Dahod 11, among others.
Of the four fatalities caused by the COVID-19 disease, one person died each in Botad and Rajkot districts, the department said.
Gujarat is now left with 9,250 active cases.

In the Union Territory of Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, one new COVID-19 case was reported along with three recoveries.
The tally of coronavirus positive cases in the UT now stands at 3,350, while the number of recoveries is 3,337, officials said, adding that the UT has 12 active cases while the death toll stands at two.
The number of new tests conducted in the day and the overall number of coronavirus tests in the UT are not available.
Ahmedabad sees 151 cases, 153 recoveries, 2 deaths
The number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad reached 58,095 on Sunday after 151 people were detected with the infection, while two deaths took the toll to 2,256, an official said.
The number of people discharged so far is 52,932, including 153 on Sunday, of which 145 were in city limits, he said.
“The city also accounted for 146 of the new cases. It now has 2,409 active cases, including 396 in the north-west zone. So far, 2,200 patients have died in the city, comprising 1,551 in government hospitals, 646 in private facilities and one in a COVID centre,” an Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation official said.
The bed occupancy rate in private hospitals in the city has fallen to 12.25 per cent, with 432 beds occupied out of 3,525 available, the Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association said.
It said 3 beds are occupied and 206 vacant in ICUs with ventilators, and 79 beds are occupied and 452 available in ICUs without ventilators.
127 cases, 151 recoveries in Surat
Surat saw 127 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking its tally to 49,634, while 151 people were discharged, an official said.
With no deaths during the day, the toll remained 1,138, he said.
So far, 35,644 people have been discharged in Surat municipal corporation limits, a recovery rate of 94.71 percent, the official said.
He said 8,362 are quarantined, and 191 hospitalised, including 66 in civil hospital and SMIMER, which have bed occupancy rates of 1.8 and 3 percent respectively.
In rural Surat, Kamrej’s caseload is 2,566, with seven cases on Sunday, followed by Choryasi with 2,430 cases, while Umarpada has the lowest 83 cases.
