The Indian Coast Guard ship Abheek which is based at Okha port in Devbhumi Dwarka District, undertook a daring mission in rough monsoon seas off Beypore (Kerala) coast to rescue five fishermen from a boat “UK Sons” stranded at sea. The Indian Coast Guard ship was en route to Okha from Kochi.
In a swift rescue operation in dark hours while braving the challenging rough weather, @IndiaCoastGuard Ship Abheek rescued all 05 crew from stranded #Indian #Fishing Boat ‘UK SONS’ stranded since 05 July, 08 NM West off #Beypore, #Kerala in #ArabianSea.

“The fishing boat named UK Sons with five crew members ventured out at sea off Beypore on June 30. Upon deterioration in weather during the subsequent days, the boat was unable to enter any fishing harbour due to heavy waves and swell. On Thursday, the owner informed Indian Coast Guard Station at Beypore that the weather has further deteriorated,” a Defence release said.

Consequent to this Indian Coast Guard Ship Abheek was diverted to recover the crew safely. Indian Coast Guard ship Abheek arrived at the scene expeditiously. The efforts and courage executed by the crew of ICGS Abheek in the face of adverse weather conditions resulted in successful rescue of all five precious lives at sea, the statement added.
