Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel felicitated Cadila Pharmaceuticals, one of the oldest and largest privately-held drug companies in the country, for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at improving the general health and well-being of local communities.
The CSR team of Cadila Pharmaceuticals accepted the award from the Chief Minister at a public event in Visnagar, Mehsana, recently.
Cadila Pharmaceuticals has participated in nine mega healthcare initiatives of the district health department in Mehsana and supported authorities by sponsoring necessary medicines, especially its iron syrup (Haem UP) to help adolescent girls, and pregnant and lactating women beat anaemia. The syrup is useful for iron deficiency and anaemia, helps improve energy levels, boosts immune function, and supports overall health.

Earlier this year, Cadila Pharma distributed school bags to young marginalised children of 50 plus schools during Shala Praveshotsav campaign initially initiated by PM Narendra Modi in 2003, then Chief Minister of Gujarat and being taken forward by Gujarat CM Bhupendrabhai Patel.
The company also organised a blood donation camp and tree plantation drives across its campuses to mark the birth anniversary of its founder Late Indravadan A Modi in the month of February 2023.
The blood donation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from Cadila Pharmaceuticals employees with 71,000 ml of blood being donated in single day. Hundreds of trees were planted at different locations of Cadila Pharmaceuticals on the occasion. Cadila Pharmaceuticals has already planted around 1 lakh trees in the ongoing fiscal, including 12,900 in the first two months of the year.
