Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel released a Special Cover with Cancellation to mark the occasion of ‘Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Diwas’ organized by the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) at the GMDC Ground here on Wednesday.

Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Krishna Kumar Yadav presented the first copy of the Special Cover to the Chief Minister. This special cover features a unique cancellation with a stamp depicting the 2800th Nirvan Kalyanak of Bhagwan Parshvanath. The event was organized by the Jain community to spread the message of world peace and non-violence. During this event, more than 25,000 people gathered and collectively chanted the Navkar Mantra from 8:01 am to 9:36 am.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the function virtually from the Science Bhavan, New Delhi. In his address, the Prime Minister shared his deep spiritual experiences with the Navkar Mantra and discussed its ability to bring peace and stability to the mind. He stated, “Navkar Mantra is not just a mantra, it is the center of our faith, the essence of our life. It’s importance is not only spiritual. It guides everyone, from the individual to society, from the common man to the entire world. Every word, every letter of this mantra is itself a mantra.” After the collective chanting of the mantra, the Prime Minister urged everyone to take nine vows also. The Home Minister of Gujarat, Shri Harsh Sanghvi, also joined the event virtually at Ahmedabad.
Postmaster General, Krishna Kumar Yadavsaid that the special cover on ‘Vishwa Navkar Mantra Diwas’ is designed as a unique symbol. It prominently features the Navkar Mantra: “Namo Arihantanam, Namo Siddhanam, Namo Aayariyanam, Namo Uvajjayanam, Namo Loe Savvasahunam, Eso Panch Namukaaro, Savva Paavappanaassano, Mangalaanam Cha Savvesim, Padhmam Havai Mangalam”. This special cover has been designed as a distinguished cultural symbol and will help the younger generation connect with their culture and heritage. It will become a remarkable part of philately, with stamp affixed to it, and will move across the world thereby spreading the importance of the Navkar Mantra far and wide.
