Asserting that a strong structure of air, rail and road connectivity has been set up in Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday, the first day of Navratri, dedicated a newly built six-lane road from Tarapur to Vasad in Anand district.
મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભૂપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલે તારાપુરથી વાસદના 48 કિમી લંબાઈના રૂ. 1005 કરોડના ખર્ચે નિર્મિત સીક્સ-લેન રસ્તાનું લોકાર્પણ કર્યું હતું. વિકાસની ધોરી નસ સમાન આ માર્ગના લીધે હવે તારાપુરથી વાસદ માત્ર 35 મિનિટમાં પહોંચી જવાશે, જેનો મહત્તમ લાભ સૌરાષ્ટ્ર-મધ્ય ગુજરાતના લોકોને થશે. pic.twitter.com/ZKREwPVWvz

According to a release, the 48-km stretch of State Highway-8 has been completed at a cost of Rs 1,005 crore.
The event to dedicate the road was organised at Bochasan village on the highway, it was stated.
The Vasad-Tarapur stretch of SH-8 connects south Gujarat with Saurashtra region, and now, with the completion of a six-lane road, the travel time from Vasad to Tarapur has come down to 35 minutes, the release said.
Patel also performed a virtual inauguration and ground breaking of six other projects of the Road and Building department worth Rs 206.93 crore.
Patel said, “The state government is moving forward on the path of progress by keeping the people together with mantra of “Sauna Sath, Sauna Vikas and Sauno VIshvas”. Gujarat’s development journey has not stopped even during the Covid-19 pandemic. During Covid-19 pandemic time many developed countries around the world were also degraded, at that time our Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi showed us the way to fight against pandemic.
Patel added that our works are not election oriented. We are carrying out development works with a sense of service to help the people. Our government has succeeded in reaching the last man of the state.
Roads and Building Minister Purnesh Modi announced that a parallel road connecting Tarapur with Bagodara and Kadi will be finished in the next 100 days. Tourists will get better facilities on completion of this road.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said, “Roads are the lifeblood of Gujarat. The state-of-the-art and convenient Tarapur-Vasad road has been constructed like nowhere else in the country. As a result, transportation between Saurashtra and South Gujarat will be facilitated and fuel will be saved along with saving time.”
Anand MP Miteshbhai Patel said that this advanced road connecting Saurashtra with South Gujarat will prove to be very conducive for fast traffic. However, due to the active efforts of the Government of Gujarat and the then Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, the work on this road has been completed quickly. He also congratulated Prime Minister for successful completion of 20 years of public service and dedication.
Secretary of Roads and Building Department S B Vasava delivered his welcome keynote address. GSRDC MD SC Modi delivered the vote of thanks.
Rural Development Minister Arjun Singh Chauhan, Chief Whip Pankajbhai Desai, MLA Govindbhai Parmar and Mayurbhai Rawal, Former Minister CD Patel, Former MPs Dilipbhai Patel and Lalsinh Vadodia were also remained present.
