The number of cases in the state has reached 60,285, said a release by the Health Department.
With 22 coronavirus patients dying since the previous evening, the death toll due to the pandemic rose to 2,418, it stated.

Gujarat has added nearly 7,000 new cases in the last seven days.
879 patients recovered and were discharged from different hospitals in the state in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovered cases to 44,074.
Since Wednesday evening, 10 coronavirus patients died in Surat district, five in Ahmedabad, two each in Patan, Gandhinagar, and Vadodara, and one in Kutch district.
Gujarat’s recovery rate is 73.11 percent, the health department release said.
Testing is being ramped up and over 25,000 persons were tested on Thursday, taking the per million testing average to 385.64, it added.
As many as 7,38,073 coronavirus tests have been carried out in the state so far.
There are 13,793 active patients, 84 of them on ventilators.
With 1,159 new cases, Gujarat was on the 10th spot in the country in terms of daily increase in cases, the release said.
Out of 879 patients discharged during the day, 220 patients were from Surat district, 119 from Ahmedabad, and 98 from Vadodara.

Surat recorded the highest 271 new cases – 217 from the Surat city and 54 from rural areas.
Ahmedabad stood second with 157 new cases – 143 from the city and 14 from rural areas. The case tally in Ahmedabad district is still highest in the state at 26,341.

157 new cases in Ahmedabad; 5 die, 119 recover
Ahmedabad district recorded 157 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the count to 26,341 on Thursday, while the death toll inched towards the 1,600-mark with five more fatalities, the state Health Department said.
Out of these 157 new cases, 143 were from Ahmedabad city and the remaining 14 from rural parts of the district, said a release by the Health Department.
Ahmedabad’s death toll rose to 1,593 with five more infected persons succumbing in the last 24 hours, it said.
Also, 119 patients undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the district were discharged during the same period following recovery, the release added.
With this, the number of recovered cases rose to 21,237.
These 119 recoveries, the second-highest after Surat, include 104 from the city and 15 from different villages of Ahmedabad district.
Out of the total 2,418 COVID-19 deaths registered in Gujarat so far, as many as 1,593 were from Ahmedabad district alone.
While 1,535 victims were from the city, 58 deaths were reported from rural parts of Ahmedabad district.
Notably, no deaths have been reported from rural parts of Ahmedabad for the last one week.
Of the total 26,341 cases registered in Ahmedabad district so far, as many as 25,079 were from the city and the rest 1,262 were detected rural parts of the district.
