Gujarat reported 1,512 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday, raising its caseload to 2,12,769, the state health department said.
With 14 COVID-19 patients dying during the day, the death toll reached 4,018, it said.
At the same time, 1,570 patients were discharged from hospitals which took the total of recovered cases to 1,93,938, said the department in its release.
Gujarat’s recovery rate now stands at 91.15 per cent.

There are 14,813 active cases in the state, including 93 patients who are on the ventilator.
Ahmedabad district reported 325 new cases, Surat 252, Vadodara 176 and Rajkot 153, said the department.
Among other districts, 74 cases were detected in Mehsana, 62 in Gandhinagar, 45 in Jamnagar, 44 in Banaskantha, 42 in Kheda, 35 in Dahod, 28 each in Kutch and Patan, 27 in Morbi, 26 in Bharuch, 22 each in Junagadh and Panchmahal, 18 each in Navsari and Sabarkantha, 14 in Narmada.
Eight COVID-19 patients died in Ahmedabad district, three in Surat and one each in Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha and Rajkot, said the department.
A total of 69,186 tests were conducted on Wednesday, taking the total of samples tested for the virus in Gujarat to 79,63,653.
The Union Territory of Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli has reported 3,311 COVID-19 cases so far and 3,294 recoveries.
There are 15 active cases in the UT — nine in Daman, one in Diu and five in DNH, said officials.

Ahmedabad records 325 new cases; eight more deaths
With the addition of 325 new cases of COVID-19, the tally of infections in Ahmedabad district reached 50,734 on Wednesday, an official from the state health department said.
The toll in the district rose to 2,078 after eight patients died of the infection, the official said.
As many as 330 patients were discharged from various hospitals, raising the count of recoveries to 45,490, he said.
While Ahmedabad city reported 302 new cases and 309 recoveries, 23 new infections and 21 recoveries were recorded in the rural parts of the district, the official said.
Of the city’s seven zones, the north-west zone has 491 active cases, which is the highest, followed by the west zone with 462 cases, south-west zone with 447 cases, among others.
At 280, the central zone has the lowest number of active cases, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation stated.
After a new revision, the number of micro-containment areas in Ahmedabad city stands at 300, the AMC said.
As many as 11 such areas were removed and 10 were added after new cases were detected there, it said.
In private hospitals requisitioned for the treatment of COVID-19 cases, the bed occupancy has improved to 85 per cent after the addition of beds and opening of new COVID care centres.

Surat district reports 252 new cases; 307 recover
Surat district in Gujarat on Wednesday reported 252 fresh COVID-19 cases and three deaths, taking the count of infections to 42,982 and the toll to 1,075, the health department said.
At 307, the count of recoveries outnumbered the fresh cases, it said in a release.
Surat city counted 204 infections and 256 recoveries, while rural parts recorded 48 cases and 51 recoveries.
A total of 30,511 patients have so far been discharged after treatment in Surat city, taking its case recovery rate to 93.66 per cent.
A total of 20,475 people remained quarantined in the city, the civic body said.
Currently, 491 patients are being treated for COVID-19 at various hospitals.
