Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday announced that his government has drawn a blueprint for Gujarat to woo foreign industries and investments in a post-COVID-19.

At present, a large number of industries and MNCs from Japan, USA, Korea and other European nations are willing to shift their production from China to other countries.
As part of the same, Rupani held a high-level meeting to attract and encourage global industrialists, business tycoons and investors in Gujarat. This will not only strengthen the state’s industrial growth but provide a plethora of employment opportunities to the population.

To ensure that India, especially Gujarat is at the focus of such opportunities, the Chief Minister has taken several important decisions for the same.
33 thousand hectares of land is available for industrial use in Khoraj, Sanand, Dahej SEZ Saykha, Dholera SEZ and other private SEZs. It has been decided that the details for the same and Plug and Produce facility will be available through a GIS-based Landbank system.

Gujarat registered FDI worth ₹ 24 thousand crores in the first quarter of 2019-20. In addition to that, 2574 industries and 734 factories have been established in the last three years. The state contributes 51% to IEM. All this has been made possible due to fast-paced and transparent approvals, and an ambient ecosystem for investment.
The Chief Minister has also decided that the process of approvals for new industries that wish to establish themselves in Gujarat will be 100% online. They will be allocated land within 7 days and all the necessary permissions related to the same shall be provided in 15 days of their application.
The Department of Industries and Mines, GOG in co-operation with the Department of Industrial Promotion, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GOI has envisioned to contact the embassies and industries of foreign nations to establish their units in Gujarat.
In addition to that, the state government has decided to consult JETRO, KOTRA, USISPF and USIBC to encourage their industries to establish their units in Gujarat.

New units to get 1200 days relief from labour acts
The Chief Minister has also announced some important labour reforms in the meeting. The new industrial units will be provided with relief from all the related acts and norms for 1,200 days. However, they will be bound to follow Minimum Wages, Act, Industrial Safety Rules and The Employee Compensation Act. The CM has directed the Labour Department to create an ordinance for the same.
The state government shall also facilitate in helping the foreign industries to find joint venture partners in the state. At present, Gujarat contributes 7.9% to India’s GDP and 20% to the overall exports.
Principal Secretary to CM M.K Das, Vipul Mitra, P.S, Labour and Employment Department were present in the meeting.
1.53 lakh left by 130 Shramik Specials from Gujarat
Around 1.53 lakh migrant workers have been successfully sent back to their respective natives by 130 Shramik Specials till Friday night.
Secretary to CM Ashwani Kumar said, “63 labour trains have run across India for sending back migrant workers. Out of this, Gujarat has sent the maximum number of trains, i.e 97. The state government will send 33 more trains today to four states namely U.P, Bihar, Orissa, and Jharkhand.”
39 trains were operated yesterday. 16 to UP, 16 to Orissa, 4 to Bihar, and 3 to Jharkhand. 24 trains have run from Ahmedabad and Viramgam railway station till last night. These include 18 to U.P and 6 to Bihar.
8 trains to UP and 1 to Bihar have been sent from Vadodara railway station. 4 trains have been sent from Rajkot, 3 from Godhra, 2 from Jamnagar, 1 from Kutch-Bhuj, 1 from Mehsana, 1 from Morbi, 3 from Nadiad, 1 from Palanpur, 2 from Anand, 1 from Ankleshwar and 1 from Bhavnagar.
A total of 97 trains have been operated, including 57 for U.P, 16 for Orissa, 4 for Jharkhand, 16 for Bihar, and 1 for MP. A total of 1.13 lakh migrant labourers have been sent to their home states with proper arraignments of social-distancing.
Particular arrangements have been made by the administrations of Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Nadiad, Palanpur, Mehsana and other districts to avoid any hindrance in this system.
He added that a total of 33 trains will run from different cities of Gujarat on Friday. Which includes 25 trains for Uttar Pradesh, 4 for Bihar, 1 for Jharkhand, 2 for Madhya Pradesh, and 1 for Rajasthan. Out of the total 9 trains from Surat today, 5 trains will run for Uttar Pradesh, 2 trains for Bihar, 1 train for Jharkhand, and 1 train for Rajasthan. A total of 3 trains will depart from Vadodara, including 2 for Uttar Pradesh and 1 for Bihar. A total of 7 depart will leave for Ahmedabad. Out of which 5 trains will depart from Sabarmati station to Uttar Pradesh and 2 trains from Himmatnagar, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Rajkot, Tapi, Nadiad and 2 trains from Morbi will depart.
Ashwani Kumar briefed on the distribution of food grains to 61 lakh APL-1 cardholders. In this regard, he said that ration cardholders with 3 and 4 as their last digit will receive their food grains from the cheap food shops. So far, about 12 lakh families have received their supplies from such shops. Which will result to around 15 lakh families till Friday 10 pm. In just two days, rations have been distributed to about 15 lakh middle-class families in the state who have APL-1 card.
Kumar said that MNREGA works have been started with sufficient vigilance to ensure that public life in the rural areas of the state is restored quickly, employment is provided to the workers keeping in mind social-distancing.
3 lakh 32 thousand 439 workers are getting their livelihood under such an MGNREGA program in the state. MNREGA works are in progress in 4 thousand 272 gram panchayats. Which include 46,522 in Dahod, 31,510 in Bhavnagar, 25,974 in Narmada, 19,376 in Panchmahal, 18,955 in Chhota Udaipur, 16,921 in Tapi and 16,195 in Sabarkantha.
Briefing about Sujalam-Suflam Jal Abhiyan he said that, so far 26,88,718.91 cubic meters of water storage has been completed. In this regard, he said that in the last two years, 23,500 lakh cubic feet of additional water has been stored in the state through this scheme. Under this program, deepening of lakes, check dams, small rivers are carried out in the villages. The main objective of this program is to provide fertile and good soil to the farmers free of cost for agriculture and digging of ponds to save additional water.
