Gujarat has once again secured a substantial allocation of Rs 17,155 crore for railway infrastructure development in the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.

This consistent funding will be directed towards enhancing connectivity, modernizing rail networks, and improving passenger experience across the state.

Addressing a virtual press conference organized on Monday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave information about the budget allocated to various zones.

“A record Rs  17,155 crore has been given to Gujarat under the Railway Budget, which is 29 times more than what it received before 2014.. This allocation will be used to make travel accessible by building new stations, new tracks and increasing infrastructure facilities,” he added .

Giving further information, he said that since 2014, 2,739 km of new tracks have been constructed in Gujarat, which is more than the entire railway network of Denmark. Also, since 2014, 3,144 km. 97 percent electrification has been done in Gujarat.

Currently, there are 42 projects (new tracks) in the ongoing projects. The length of which is 2,948 km and the estimated cost will be Rs 30,826 crores .

87 Amrut stations will be developed

He also said that 87 Amrut stations worth Rs . 6,303 crore are being developed . In which Ahmedabad , Anand , Ankleshwar , Asarwa , Bardoli , Bhachau , Bhaktinagar , Bhanvad , Bharuch , Bhatia , Bhavnagar , Bhestan , Bhildi , Bilimora J. N. , Botad J. N. , Chandlodia , Chorwad Road , Dabhoi J. , Dahod , Dakor , Derol , Dhragadhra , Dwarka , Gandhidham , Godhra J. N. , Gondal , Hapa , Himmatnagar , Jam Jodhpur , Jam Vanthali , Jamnagar , Junagadh J. N. , Kalol J. N. , Canalus J. N ., Karamsad , Keshod , Khambhaliya , Kim , Kim ,  Kosamba J . N ., Lakhtar , Limbdi , Limkheda , Mehmadabad Khera Road , Mahesna J . N ., Mahuva , Maninagar , Mithapur , Miyagam Karjan J . N ., Morbi , Nadiad J . N ., Navsari , New Bhuj , Okha , Paddhari , Palanpur J . N ., Palitana , Patan , Porbandar , Pratapnagar , Rajkot Junction , Rajula J . N ., Sabarmati B . G ., Sabarmati M . G ., Sachin , Samkhiyali , Sanjan , Savarkundla , Sion , Siddhpur , Sihor Jn , Somnath , Songadh , Surat , Surendranagar , Than , Udhna , Udwara , Umargam Road , Unjha , Udhna , Uttaran , Vadodara , Vapi , Vatva , Veraval , Viramgam , Vishwamitri J. N . , Wankaner have been included .

Work on Second Entry Station Building is in progress . Basement raft foundation completed , steel column construction in progress . Construction of RCC box drain completed . Main Station Building side utility survey in progress . Concourse foundation and column erection on P. F. in progress . Structural work of GSRTC Building completed , finishing work in progress . Pile foundation work on elevated road in progress .​​​​
6 New Bhuj 201 Structural framework of Main Entry and Second Entry Station Building is complete , masonry and MEP work is in progress . Concourse foundation , column erection and girder launching are complete , deck slab sheet work is in progress .
7 Ahmedabad 2,379 The existing main South Station building has been demolished and foundation work for the new MMTH building is underway . Work on the new parcel building is in progress . Piling and pile cap for the elevated road is in progress . Pile work for the concourse has started .
Total price   5,572

He also added that keeping in mind the security of the railways, the government has started installing shields on 10,000 locomotives.
