Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat appreciated the selfless service of cadets and staff of Gujarat NCC Directorate for donating 405 units of blood to mitigate the blood scarcity due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a Defence release said on Thursday.

“Keeping in view the scarcity of blood being reported in various blood banks in Gujarat during COVID-19, NCC Gujarat Directorate organized a month-long blood donation campaign throughout the state in coordination with the Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat. The event was also organized to commemorate the “Kargil Vijay Diwas” on July 26. Cadets dedicated the blood donation to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil war,” the release added.
In a series of blood donation camps at various places such as Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajpipla, Bhuj, Jamnagar, and many other cities, a total of 451 staff and NCC volunteers donated 405 units of blood which has been widely appreciated by the populace of Gujarat.
