Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat hosted the ‘At Home’ ceremony to honour NCC Republic Day Contingent at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar on Monday, says a release.
A special function to honour the cadets, who participated in the Republic Day Camp – 2021 and award winners, was hosted by Governor Acharya Devvrat. At the function, Governor complimented the Deputy Director General (DDG) Brigadier Harsh Vardhan Singh and his team for their selfless commitment in training the cadets of the state in all fields and motivated them to climb greater heights in life.

Governor also lauded Brigadier Harsh Vardhan Singh for initiating innovative methods in inculcating strong character and obligations of youth, particularly NCC cadets towards social responsibilities. He was happy to note that ‘Personality development’ & ‘Charitra Nirman’ have remained as the core of the learning values and training curriculum imparted to the NCC cadets.

He appreciated the cadets for their participation in blood donation camps, digital literacy, tree plantation and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaigns. Governor also complimented the cadets for taking part in Exercise NCC Yogdan in large numbers in assistance to the district administration in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, which is a testimony of their commitment towards their fellow being as per the ethos of NCC. The efforts of Directorate in expansion of NCC in border and coastal areas was highly commended by the Governor.
Governor also felicitated Lt (Dr) Piyush P Gohil, ANO of 1 Gujarat Composite Technical Unit Vadodara for being awarded the prestigious Commandants Bronze Medal in the PRCN course at Officers’ Training Academy, Kamptee. Also, Cadet Deep Bhanushali of 3 Gujarat Battalion Vadodara for saving the life of a grievously injured person and Cadet Dheeraj Singh of 1 Gujarat Air Sqn Vadodara for securing first position in the SD( AIR) category of best cadets, were felicitated by the Governor.
