Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat hosted the ‘At Home’ ceremony to honour NCC Republic Day Contingent at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar on Saturday, says a release.

A special function to honour the cadets, who participated in the Republic Day Camp – 2023 and award winners, was hosted by Governor Acharya Devvrat. At the function, Governor complimented Maj Gen Arvind Kapoor, ADG, NCC Gujarat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Diu & Daman and his team for their selfless commitment in training the cadets of the state in all fields and motivated them to climb greater heights in life.

The Governor felicitated the best cadets and achievers in various NCC activities and started the practice of awarding ‘Inter Group Championship Banner’ to the best performing NCC Group Headquarters in Gujarat Directorate.
Pursuing the goals of NCC of character building and leadership in all walks of life, Gujarat NCC Directorate has taken several initiatives and instituted innovative methods which have fructified in the form of willing participation, contribution and excellence by the cadets. The sustained efforts of Directorate towards expansion of NCC in Border and Coastal areas was commended by the Governor as well, will be given further impetus this year as well.
“On the occasion of culmination of training events of year 2022-23, Maj Gen Arvind Kapoor, ADG, NCC Gujarat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Diu & Daman will felicitate the Achievers of NCC who excelled and brought laurels to the State of Gujarat, at a ceremony to be held at NCC Group Headquarters at Law Garden, Ahmedabad on Monday,” the statement said.
During the ceremony, Maj Gen Arvind Kapoor, ADG NCC will extend a special felicitation to the NCC cadets who volunteered and participated in Sabarmati to Dandi Cycle Rally along the Dandi Path conveying the message of “Atmanirbhar Bharat Ka Safar Swavalmban Ki Aur” and Dandi to Delhi Motor Cycle Rally conveying the message “Atmanirbhar Bharat Ka Salt Se Software Ka Safar”. Both the rallies were organised in January 2023 on the occasion of 75 years of NCC which received an overwhelming response and support from the people all along the route.
Gen Kapoor will also compliment the participant cadets for displaying a high-level of enthusiasm, courage and motivation towards the noble cause of conveying a message to the society, the statement added.
