Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat on Wednesday launched Gujarat NCC Directorate’s #EkMaiSauKeLiye Campaign Phase-4 at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor appreciated the efforts of the cadets and applauded the selfless service rendered in reaching out to the people affected by the pandemic. He further stated that he is happy to see that the NCC cadets of Gujarat have always risen to serve the nation in the hour of need, whether it be ex-yogdan, assisting administration in Disaster Management, donating blood or creating awareness against various social evils.

He congratulated Major General Arvind Kapoor, staff and cadets of Gujarat NCC Directorate for having been recognized by the World Book of Records London and accorded the ‘Certificate of Commitment’. The recognition validates the dedicated and relentless commitment of Gujarat NCC Directorate as part of #EkMaiSauKeLiye Campaign for promoting safety against the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Further the Governor said, “I am happy over the theme of Phase 4 of the campaign which will involve the NCC cadets connecting with Corona Warriors – doctors, nurses, ward boys, ambulance drivers, hospital staff and sanitation workers, towards motivating them for the tremendous job they havebeen doing for the last one and a half years under adverse conditions.”

He launched the Phase -4 of #EkMaiSauKeLiye Campaign and exhorted the people of Gujarat to follow the example of the NCC Cadets of Gujarat NCC Directorate and come forward to help their fellow beings affected by the pandemic.
Major General Arvind Kapoor, in his welcome address said that the #EkMaiSauKeLiye Campaign commenced in May 2021, and till now in the previous three phases the cadets connected over mobile phones, with hundreds of relatives and friends and acquaintances, residents of old age homes and spread awareness about COVID-19 appropriate behavior and the importance of vaccination, with an aim to instill a feeling of deep love and regard for the elders and friends, as also to keep their spirits high and show them that ‘We Care’.
Cadets have also connected with the Veterans of the Indian Armed Forces and the War Widows or Veer Naris. The aim being to tell that even in these times, we have not forgotten the services rendered by them and their husbands, respectively.
Major General Arvind Kapoor also informed the Governor that UGC has released guidelines for universities to include NCC as an “Elective Subject” in their curriculum. He requested the Governori that necessary directions be issued to all Vice- Chancellors to include the same in the curriculum of their universities as it will greatly benefit the NCC cadets.
Major General Arvind Kapoor thanked the Governor for his motivational and inspirational words and informed the Governor that Gujarat NCC Directorate, its staff and cadets intend to carry the #EkMaiSauKeLiye Campaign for as long as was necessary to meet the social service and community development responsibilities of the NCC cadets towards nation-building.
