GANDHINAGAR, OCT 5

Gujarat Government on Monday announced that to ease the burden of students from Std 9 to Std 12 studying under the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, approximately 30 percent of the syllabus will be reduced for the academic year of 2020-21, a release said.

This will make it easier for SSC and HSC students to prepare for the board examinations, stated a note released by the Education Board, adding that the examinations will not include questions from the chapters that are declared cancelled from the syllabus. Also, the teachers should provide knowledge of these topics to students for their good, the note added.

According to a note released by the Joint Director of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, the details of cancelled chapters or topics will be put on the board’s website and also be communicated to all schools via District Education Officers.

Board exams for Std 10 and Std 12 will be conducted in May 2021 while exams for class 9 and 11 will be conducted in June 2021, said Education Minister Bhupendrasih Chudasama.
