In a major reshuffle immediately after the brief Winter Session of the state assembly that ended on Wednesday raised eyebrows among the IAS officers.
Principal Secretary (Ports and Transport) Sunaina Tomar, the 1989-batch senior officer has been posted as Principal Secretary (Energy and Petrochemicals) replacing Pankaj Joshi, who was recently appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) as additional charge.
Principal Secretary (General Administration) Kamal Dayani will hold additional charge of Transport until further orders.
1991-batch IAS officer, S J Haider, who was recently transferred as Commissioner (Rural Development and Panchayats) from the post of Principal Secretary (Industries) has been appointed as vice-chairman and managing director of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). He will relieve Sonal Mishra.
Sonal Mishra has been appointed as Secretary (Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar), relieving A K Rakesh holding additional charge.
Manoj Aggarwal, Principal Secretary (Social Justice and Empowerment), will hold additional charge of Haider’s portfolio as Commissioner (Rural Development and Panchayats).
Several collectors and district officers, too, have been transferred. Dilip Kumar Rana, a 2007-batch officer currently serving as Anand Collector, has been appointed as Commissioner (Tribal Development).
Nagrajan M, a 2009-batch officer who is currently posted as Kutch-Bhuj Collector, has been transferred in less than a year as Director of Higher Education, Gandhinagar.
Recently promoted to IAS, AMC Deputy Municipal Commissioner K L Bachani has been transferred and appointed as Joint Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation.
Besides these, few deputy collectors, assistant collectors and district development officers too were shuffled.
