Gujarat Minister of State for Industries Jagdishbhai Iswarbhai Vishwakarma inaugurated the 16thedition of India’s leading trade fair for the Ceramic & Brick industry, Indian Ceramics Asia, in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
Dr Robert Schonberger, Exhibition Group Director, Messe Muenchen GmbH, said, “All European manufacturers of machineries for ceramic industries have faced the COVID-induced economic slowdown and the business was zero during this last two years. Now, we are hopeful of getting orders from India, especially Gujarat, the world’s second largest ceramic exporting country. While European machineries are technologically far advanced Chinese one’s are lagging behind us. We have set up shops in Morbi to offer after sales and service through our Indian partners. By adopting the latest technology, Morbi ceramic cluster has reduced the energy consumption by 40 percent.”

The global ceramics industry market size was valued at US $247.4 billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at 4.4% (CAGR) from 2021 to 2028. As the world sees a steady growth in residential construction, usage of ceramics too in products such as tiles and sanitary ware will witness a synergetic development. Indian Ceramics Asia, that has been serving the Indian ceramic and brick Industry for over 15 editions now, will once again offer the ideal platform for the ecosystem to meet, connect & convert this potential to commerce, Singh added..
Indian Ceramics Asia will bridge the Ceramics & Brick manufacturing sectors with knowledge, technology & market opportunities as it showcases modern machinery, high-quality raw materials, analysis and laboratory equipment, technical ceramics, equipment for storage, materials handling and more. On display at the trade fair are 500+ key brands displaying their products and technologies, 1,000+ products and solutions on display, 100+ exhibiting companies from over 11 countries. The exhibition is spread across 7,000+ sqm featuring exhibitors from Bangladesh, China, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, UK, United Arab Emirates. Over 6,000 industry visitors are expected from over 20 countries to visit the trade fair.
This year’s India Ceramics Asia has received tremendous advocacy and support from multiple trade associations such as Morbi Ceramic Manufacturers Association (MCA), The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI), The Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machinery and Equipment for the Ceramics Industry (ACIMAC), and the Indian Council of Ceramic Tiles & Sanitaryware (ICCTAS) etc. The Gujarat Government is supporting the ceramic industry to revive and extending all possible help.
Through shared expertise and synergies, the 16th edition of this partnership would establish itself as the most pivotal event for the industry in India, with a common goal to enhance the visibility of advanced ceramic products and technology.

Dr Lalit Kumar Sharma, Chairman of Indian Ceramic Society, said, “Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission of the Centre, Faridabad-based industries have started making machineries for the domestic as well as the global market, So far they have supplied 40 machineries and brought down the cost without compromising the quality.”
Fabio Di Giorgio, APAC Sales Manager, Poppi Clementiono, Italy said, “They have opened their stall for the first time in India and got good response for their products.”
Santosh Gorge of Chemet, Ahmedabad-based agency for Chinese companies said, “They have been receiving good number of inquiries from Gujarat for Chinese machineries.”
The Indian Ceramics Asia exhibition is open till April 8, 2022 at Helipad Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar.
