Gujarat recorded its highest single-day spike of 1,282 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the total count to 93,883, the state health department said.
With 13 deaths, the toll rose to 2,991, it said.

A total of 1,111 patients were discharged in the day, taking the number of recoveries to 75,662, the department said in a release.
Gujarat’s COVID-19 case recovery rate now stands at 80.59 percent, it said.
Of the 13 fatalities, 3 were reported from Ahmedabad while two deaths each occurred in Surat and Rajkot. One patient died each in Amreli, Gir Somnath, Mehsana, Morbi, Jamnagar, and Vadodara, the department said.
At 273, Surat reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the day, followed by Ahmedabad at 164 infections.
Among other districts, Vadodara reported 124 new cases, Rajkot 115, Jamnagar 102, Bhavnagar 61, Gandhinagar 35, and Panchmahal 34, etc.
The number of active cases now stands at 15,230, the department said.
A total of 74,234 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, which comes at the rate of 1,142.06 tests per day per million population.
21,95,985 samples have been tested so far in the state.

273 new coronavirus cases in Surat, two deaths
The number of coronavirus cases in Surat district rose to 20,598 with 273 new cases on Saturday, the highest in Gujarat, the state health department said.
With two fatalities, the death toll due to the pandemic in the district rose to 804.
225 patients were discharged, which took the number of recovered patients in the district to 16,967.
Surat city reported 181 new cases while rural parts reported 92 new cases.
Both deaths were reported from the city area.
Within the city, Athwa reported the highest 48 new cases, followed by Rander at 41, the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) said.
Katargam zone has reported the highest 3,060 new cases so far, it said.
As many as 7.74 lakh people have been surveyed in the areas which reported COVID-19 cases and 31,552 people have been quarantined, the SMC said.
In other parts of the district, Bardoli tehsil reported 14 new cases, taking its tally to 664.
Kamrej tehsil has reported the highest number of cases so far at 916, officials said.
Ahmedabad cases rise by 164 to 31,177; 3 die
The COVID-19 count in Ahmedabad district rose to 31,177 on Saturday with the addition of 164 new cases, the Gujarat health department said.
With three persons succumbing to the viral infection, the toll went up to 1,724, it said.
A total of 160 patients were discharged in the day, taking the number of recoveries to 26,070 in the district, the department said in its release.
Of the total 164 new infections, Ahmedabad city reported 143 cases while rural areas added 21 patients to its tally.
All the 3 deaths were reported from the city, it said.
As per the COVID-19 bulletin released by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the city’s recovery rate stood at 84.5 percent with 24,728 patients discharged so far.
At 2,883, active cases accounted for 9.8 percent of the total cases, it said.
At 465, the north-west zone in the city has the highest number of active cases followed by the south-west zone (464 cases) and south zone (453 cases).
The north zone has the lowest number of 312 active cases, the AMC said.
In rural parts of the district, the COVID-19 tally has increased to 1,759 with 21 new cases being added in the day while the recovery rate stood at 92 percent, officials said.
