The total number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat crossed the 1.5 lakh mark and rose to 1,50,415 with addition of 1,221 cases on Saturday, the state health department said.
The state’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 3,560 after ten more patients succumbed to the virus, it said.

At the same time, 1,456 patients were discharged, taking the tally of recovered cases to 1,30,897.
Gujarat”s recovery rate thus improved to 87.02 percent,the department said in its release.
As many as 51,288 tests were conducted in the state in the last 24 hours, at the rate of 789.05 tests per day per million population, taking the total number of samples tested so far to 49,61,455.
Surat continues to report the highest number of daily cases in the state, with 252 cases recorded in the district on Saturday.
Ahmedabad remained at the second spot with 176 new cases, followed by Vadodara with 119 and Rajkot 114 cases.

Among other districts, Jamnagar reported 96 new cases, Gandhinagar and Junagadh 37 each, Mehsana 35, Banaskantha, and Bharuch 34 each, Patan 31, Kutch 25, Sabarkantha 24, Amreli and Morbi 22 each, Surendranagar 21, Panchmahal 20, Gir Somnath and Narmada 12 each.
Out of ten deaths, Ahmedabad reported four, Surat three, Gandhinagar two, and Rajkot one.
The number of active cases in the state stands at 15,958, of which 81 patients are on a ventilator.

176 new coronavirus cases in Ahmedabad, four deaths
Ahmedabad reported 176 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, taking its infection tally to 38,736, the Gujarat health department said.
With four deaths, highest for any district in the state during the day, the number of COVID-19 fatalities in the district rose to 1,861.
Recoveries outnumbered new cases in the district with 205 patients getting discharged, raising the number of recovered cases to 33,342, the official release said.
Against 163 new cases, Ahmedabad city reported 185 recoveries. The rural parts of the district reported 13 new cases and 20 recoveries.
All the four deaths were reported in the city, said the release.
Rural Ahmedabad has so far reported a total of 2,638 cases and 2,518 recoveries. The recovery rate of this part of the district is 96 percent, said health officials.
The number of micro-containment areas in Ahmedabad city rose to 162 with the civic body removing six such areas and adding 13 areas where new cases were reported, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation said.
The city’s west zone has the highest number of 556 active cases, followed by the north-west zone with 533 active cases, the AMC said.
COVID-19: 252 cases, 3 deaths in Surat, 300 discharged
Surat’s COVID-19 caseload increased to 30,942 after 252 people were detected with the infection on Saturday, while three deaths took the toll to 970, an official said.
Surat city accounted for 171 of the new cases and 184 of the 300 people who were discharged during the day, giving it a recovery rate of 91.2 percent, he said.
The rural parts accounted for the rest of the new cases as well as recoveries, he added.
“So far, 21,206 people have been discharged in the city, while the number of active cases here is 746,” a Surat Municipal Corporation official said.
Within SMC limits, Athwa leads with 4,273 cases, followed by Katargam with 4,019, and 28,808 people are quarantined, the official added.
In rural parts of the district, Kamrej taluka has 1,653 cases, including 88 deaths, with 4,450 patients in isolation, officials informed.
