Gujarat’s proud daughter and Mrs India Audacious Usha Kapoor bats for women’s empowerment in AtmaNirbhar Bharat. She defines women empowerment as ‘economically independent, confident, loving, caring and sharing’.
She was crowned Mrs India Audacious on Tuesday, November 9 at the Mrs India International Queen 2021, only contest of its kind for married women, grand finale held in New Delhi from November 7 to 9. She was among the 54 contestants in the 45+ age category. After going through strenuous nearly 20-hour training for three days, the contestants were subjected to four-stage filtering sessions like ramp walk, beauty with brain or question-answer session, communication skill, dressing and vision for women’s empowerment etc.
It was judged by a panel of juries consisting of Miss Adline Castelino, Miss Universe 2020- 3rd Runner Up And Mr. Rohit Khandelwal, Mr World 2016.
The sociopreneur, educationist and cosmetologist sharing her thoughts on women’s empowerment says, “It is very important for a woman to be economically independent. Earning does not make her economically independent necessarily. She should be capable and able to take financial decisions on her own. This will change the outlook of her family towards her and help her family and children to achieve greater heights. This of course cannot be achieved unless she is confident in what she does and say.”
“Woman by nature is loving and caring. She must be sharing her love and care not only for her family but all who come in contact with her. I believe in ‘givers gain’ philosophy. More she gives and shares love and care, more she will receive. Therefore, comprehensive personality of empowered woman would be that of independent thinking, confident, caring and sharing woman,” adds Mrs India Audacious.
AatmaNirbhar Bharat and women’s empowerment
“I used to think and stay positive, dream big and work hard to achieve my life’s goals with perseverance. I strongly believe that ‘positivity, confidence and persistence are the keys in life to achieve what you dream.’ As a sociopreneur, . I have trained more than 20,000 rural women in 300 villages of Mehsana district in Gujarat. To achieve my goal, I have signed an MoU with the Gujarat government-run Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC) to make rural women AatmaNirbhar. I get sense of happiness and pride as rural women whom I trained in beauty and wellness trade lead a life of economically independent.
Family is the backbone of women’s empowerment
Stating that family is the backbone of women’s empowerment, Usha Kapoor says, “I am a Gujarati, married to a Punjabi industrialist. We believe in joint family set up and 18 members staying under a roof. My husband, Mr. Paresh Kapoor is very loving and understanding husband. Thanks to the support of my family and my hubby I am a self-made social entrepreneur. In the name of women empowerment, women should not shirk their responsibilities of mother, wife, daughter-in-law etc. They should excel in the art of balancing life with much ease.”
Message to the society
By becoming Mrs India Audacious, I hope to create difference in the lives of more women of rural India in general and Gujarat in particular. My message to the society is that we, women should cultivate ‘Never say Die’ attitude. Be very positive always. Think positive and act positive. Success is learning from our failures, be persistence, and work for our dreams. We can, we will succeed in life.
Finally, we must encourage women empowerment and promote cultural heritage. Thus, we, women must use our talent to raise awareness in the aid of humanity to make real differences to the society.
