Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj celebrated Sri Radhashtami on Wednesday at their temple with gaiety & fervor. It commemorates the auspicious appearance day of Srimati Radharani, the eternal consort of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna which arrives after a gap of about 15 days from Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
Sri Radhashtami is as significant festival as Sri Krishna Janmashtami for the devotees of Lord Krishna. Radharani is deeply revered as the crest jewel among all the gopis of Vrindavana. She is the epitome of pure devotion to Lord Krishna in its highest degree. Devotees worship her and pray for Krishna-bhakti.
At Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj, Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav were adorned with new & fine robes and decorated splendidly with ornaments and fragrant flowers on this day. The altar was also decorated with brilliant, colorful flowers which spread their fragrance everywhere. They received special sevas by the devotees seeking their blessings like offerings of 108 types of special Rajbhog preparations, a special Maha abhisheka of sanctified water from 108 kalashas called as ‘Kalasha Abhisheka’ collected from 7 Holy Rivers along with recitation of Vedic Hymns from Rig Veda called ‘Purusha Sukta’ by the Devotees and a grand arati to Their Lordships while devotees sang a wonderful song glorifying Srimati Radharani.
A special lecture on glory of Sri Radhashtami by Shri Jaganmohan Krishna Dasa, President of Hare Krishna Mandir Bhadaj, was organized during festival.
The celebrations concluded with Maha Arati and Grand Palaki Utsav for the pleasure of the Lord & Devotees sang Radhikashtaka, a special song composed by Srila Rupa Gosvami, chief disciple of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu at Vrindavan as the part of the celebration.
