HDFC Bank, India’s largest private sector bank, through its CSR initiative Parivartan, has positively impacted 58.53 lakh lives in Gujarat till date. On Children’s Day, the Bank announced a major milestone in its ongoing mission to empower young learners across India.
Through its CSR initiative, Parivartan, the bank has pledged to establish SMART classes in 3,500 schools by 2025, including Gujarat. This ambitious project aims to provide digital learning environments to underserved communities, transforming educational access and opportunities for children nationwide.
HDFC Bank Parivartan has been present in Gujarat since 2017. The Bank’s Parivartan programme focuses on five key focus areas of Rural Development, Promotion of Education, Skill Development & Livelihood Enhancement, Healthcare & Hygiene, and Financial Literacy & Inclusion.
Since 2017, the Bank has covered 205 villages under HRDP in the districts of Anand, Gandhinagar, Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Tapi, Valsad, Sabarkantha, Narmada, Kheda,Gir Somnath, Amreli and Kutch. It has also covered 417 villages in the districts of Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Bhavnagar, Dang, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Kheda, Kutch, Mahisagar, Navsari, Panchmahals, Rajkot, Sabarkantha, and Surendranagar under its Focus Development Project in Gujarat, driving sustainable development across the state.
The Bank will be also be launching new projects in the aspirational block of Aravalli and border area villages of Patan & Banaskantha.
Among the five key focus areas under #Parivartan, Rural Development, Promotion of Education, and Skill Training and Livelihood Enhancement have had the most significant impact, benefitting 3.78 lakh farmers, 31,090 students, and 53,830 women entrepreneurs, respectively. This outreach spans 17 of the 33 districts in Gujarat.

HDFC Bank was among the top CSR spenders in the country for the financial year ending March 2024. As on 31st March 2024, the Bank spent Rs 945.31 crore on CSR initiatives across the country. The Bank also expanded its impact by reaching more than 10.19 crore beneficiaries across India, cumulatively as of March 2024.
