The South Korean auto-major Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has donated dry ration to Chennai and neighbouring Tiruvallur districts.
According to a company release, officials of the company has handed over 500 sets of Dry Rations to the Chennai Corporation Commissioner G Prakash, another 500 sets to the Director of Industrial Safety and Health, Tamil Nadu MV Senthil Kumar and the Joint Director of Industrial Safety and Health S Ananth respectively on Friday.
The dry rations will be further distributed to those in dire need in the Chennai district, the release said.
Earlier on Thursday, HMIL officials handed over 1000 sets of dry ration to the Tiruvallur District Collector Maheshwari Ravikumar for distributing to the poor and downtrodden suffering from the COVID-19 lockdown.
Guided by its global vision “Progress for Humanity”, Hyundai has earlier donated personal protective equipment (PPEs), and had also donated Rs 5 Crores to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (CMPRF), among many other initiatives towards India’s war against COVID-19, a company release added.
