“Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota” or a man does not have any pain is a common saying in India. Hindi family-comedy and romance film Ye Mard Bechara tells us that even a man (Mard) feels pain. It can be physical or mental. However, in general, a man (Mard) does not show his pain by overcoming his weaknesses. A man (Mard) understands the pain of others, especially when it comes to a woman. The film depicts the story of such a man (Mard), viz Ranchi Waale Shivam Sharma (Veeraj Rao).Ye Mard Bechara is a family-comedy that revolves around breaking the stereotypes related to manhood.
Anup Thapa has written, composed music, and directed the film while Shivam Aggarwal has produced the film.
Debutants Veeraj Rao and Manukriti Pahwa play the lead roles.
Speaking with the media, film’s writer-director Anuup Thapa says, “The movie was quite a challenge for me, I had an ensemble cast like Seema, Brijendra, Atul, and I was directing Seema’s daughter, but I’m glad that we have made an entertaining and enlightening film. We waited for our audience to experience such story on big screen and finally we’re ready to entertain our audience.”
Versatile actress Seema Pahwa’s daughter Manukriti Pahwa (Shivalika Khanna) is making her dream debut and she will be sharing the screen with her mother, who’s interestingly playing her mother-in-law Shanti Devi. Manikk Chaudhary (Rudra Pratap Singh) is also mark his debut. Apart from them, the film has a talented ensemble cast that includes, Brijendra Kala (Murli Prasad Sharma), Atul Srivastava Ramprasad Sharma) and Sapna Sand.
Talking about her daughter’s debut, Seema Pahwa said, “As an artist, I always crave for a good film, so I was happy for my role, but as a mother also, I was happy that Manukriti’s character is also so strong, and thus I am confident that this is a perfect launch pad for her.”
Manukriti also shared her thoughts about the film by adding, “We are a team of enthusiastic, talented minds and the concept itself is something that hasn’t been talked about. Also, I got a chance to act opposite my mother, she’s playing my mother-in-law in the film, so I couldn’t say no to this film.”
Ye Mard Bechara focussing on the pain a man goes through and there’s no better day than International Men’s Day to release the film in theatres. The film’s trailer has hit over one million and going from strength to strnngth. Ye Mard Bechara will be out on big screens, November 19, 2021.
