The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Surat rural police seized around 750 kg ganja worth Rs 75 lakh from Kudsad village under the limits of Kim police station on Sunday, police said.
Police seized ganja consignment, that was being smuggled from Odisha, from a godown near Kudsad village in Surat district in Gujarat.
The police also nabbed one person named Dhamu Pradhan in this connection.
Acting on reliable information, a raid was carried out by the Local Crime Branch and Special Operations Group at the godown located in an industrial area. Following this, officials seized around 750 kg of cannabis that is estimated to be more than Rs 75 lakh.
As per initial reports, the consignment was smuggled from Odisha.
