AHMEDABAD, APRIL 19
Hitachi Payment Services Pvt. Ltd (HPY), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd, has announced on Friday the launch of Hitachi Money Spot Mobile ATM service in Ahmedabad, to bring key banking services to the doorsteps of people amid the lockdown. The service is operational since the initial days of the lockdown and is providing easy access to ATM services for customers who would otherwise have to travel some distance to access ATM services.
The Mobile ATM is operational from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm on all days and is stationed at Moraiya village. The second Mobile ATM is planned to be deployed at Narol village. The presence of Hitachi Money Spot Mobile ATMs in such locations is a big benefit to the residents, especially in the lockdown scenario considering restrictions to people’s movement by local authorities.
Speaking on the initiative, Rustom Irani, Managing Director, Hitachi Payment Services said, “We need to ensure that ATM Services are available in places where the ATM penetration is low. We understand that for customers, access to money and banking services is essential. Through Hitachi Money Spot Mobile ATMs, customers of all banks can withdraw cash using their debit cards. During the current lockdown situation, it becomes important for people to withdraw cash as per their needs without traveling long distances and Hitachi Money Spot Mobile ATM is enabling just that as part of Hitachi Social Innovation.”
“We have been receiving a very good response in Ahmedabad for the Mobile ATM service. The number of people who transact is also high as it provides more convenient access to cash. We will be working closely with local authorities and plan to add another 25 such Mobile ATMs to cater to the needs of remote areas in various cities” he added
To protect customers and staff, HPY has been implementing social distancing and sanitation measures at its Hitachi Money Spot ATMs.
