Bengaluru-based VROOM Motorsports, one of the pioneers in Indian Motorsports Industry announced an exhilarating 3-day extravaganza from Nov 24 to 26 at Belagondapalli, Hosur in Tamilnadu.
The 9th edition of the ‘VROOM Drag Meet’, an Unisex motorsports event, has been organised at the 2.3 km long state-of-the-art drag strip inside the premises of the leading MRO – Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Limited, said Tariq Mohsin, Founder, VROOM Motorsports.

In a telephonic conversation with navjeevanexpress.com, Tariq Mohsin said, “For the first time over 700 motorsports enthusiasts are expected to participate. The VROOM Drag Motorsports is being organised over 50 categories for both Men and Women. The motorsports will also attract over 10,000 spectators from across the globe. The event conducted between 10 a.m. and 7 pm will be held under tight private and public security. We made elaborate arrangement to conduct the 3-day event in a peaceful manner.’’

In the history of VROOM Drag Meet, every edition has been a remarkable chapter in the story of Indian motorsports. The inaugural edition of VROOM Drag Meet was nothing short of extraordinary, with the highest footfall ever recorded for a motorsport event in India. It set the stage for a legacy that only gained momentum. Notably, it was during this time that JK TYRE joined the journey as the Title Sponsor for the 2nd and 3rd editions, further fueling the event’s success.
The transition to VROOM’s 3rd edition marked a pivotal moment, bidding farewell to Jakkur Aerodrome and embracing a fresh start at the remarkable Taneja Aerospace & Aviation Ltd., Hosur. This shift in venue signified a new era for VROOM Drag Meet, promising even more excitement and greater participation.
The 4th edition of VROOM Drag Meet etched its name in the record books with a record number of supercars participating, making it the most exceptional motorsport event in India. And then came the 5th edition, which carried a message of empowerment and inclusivity, introducing women-specific participation classes and the thrilling 2-wheeler super bike wheelie class.
The 5th edition also saw an impressive 15% increase in participation, clearly indicating the growing popularity and appeal of the event. The year 2022 marked a triumphant return for Vroom DragMeet, as it roared back onto the tracks after the unprecedented pandemic-induced break. This edition was also distinctive in that it saw the enthusiastic participation of young riders, bringing a fresh dynamic to the event.
However, the true milestone was achieved during the 7th edition, when, for the first time in Indian motorsport history, big OEM companies took on the roles of Title and Co-Sponsors. JAWA YEZDI and Hero MotoCorp’s participation added an unparalleled level of prestige and support to the event.
Then REV Nights happened which was also the 8th edition, which took Vroom Drag Meet to a new level. It became the first-ever night racing event in India, with the entire venue bathed in lights, aligning with the federation’s norms and setting a new standard for motorsport productions. The 8th edition saw the highest participation and footfall to date, with the roar of Ferrari engines and screeching tires creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
