The Income Tax Department has been observing the “Grievance Redressal Month” from 22nd April 2024 to 22nd May 2024. I-T dept concluded 3 fruitful meets during this month-long redressal forum for taxpayers, says an IT Dept release.
In connection with this, a special drive is being organised by the Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, wherein, to resolve their grievances, assessees or their representatives can personally meet senior officers of the jurisdictional charges at all stations on certain specified days during this month viz., 24th April, 01st May, 8th May, 15th May and 22nd May, 2024.

- Now, Taxpayers can meet officials on 15th May and 22nd May, 2024- Wednesday for grievance resolution
During earlier 3 days viz on 24th April, 01st May and 8th May, 2024, there were overwhelming responses from the taxpayers. Large number of assessees/respresentatives visited the Aayakar Seva Kendras in all the Offices of Income Tax Department situated in Tamil Nadu & Puducherry region, and interacted with the Senior Officers and filed their grievances. Some of the grievances were settled on the same day and the other grievances are taken up by the Jurisdictional Assessing Officers for early redressal.
This facility will be available for two more days on 15th May, 2024 & 22nd May, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 01:30 PM to receive and resolve the taxpayers’ grievances in addition to the existing online grievance redressal mechanism.
