The Income Tax Department in collaboration with the Commissionerate of Treasuries and Accounts , Chennai organized ‘TDS Awareness Programme’ for income tax deductors of the District of Villupuram on Wednesday.

It was organised by The Commissionerate of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai under the guidance of M Murali, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai and M Arjun Manic, IRS, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, TDS Range-3, Chennai.
Income Tax deductors were requested to adhere to the various Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961 in their business transactions without any aberration

In this connection, Income tax -TDS Awareness program for the benefit of Income tax deductors of Villupuram District TN Government deductors was conducted on Tuesday at Law College, Villupuram.
Ramachandran, District Treasury Officer, Villupuram has presided over the program and delivered welcome address. Dr S Krishna Leela, Principal, Govt Law College, Villupuram delivered the Special Address.
Income Tax Officers Senguttuvan, Sendhil Kumar, Sh Rajaraman and Deepan Kumar addressed on various provisions of TDS and TCS Provisions, Duties and Responsibilities of Income tax deductors and consequences of non-compliance to the TDS/TCS provisions
Chitrarasan, Inspector of Income Tax and Dayanithi, Senior Tax Assistant addressed on Income Tax -TRACES portal.
In this program, more than 400 deductors participated and benefitted.
