It all began several years ago when a handful of animal lovers and activists came together to help street dogs and cats find better homes. The team gradually set up efficient screening and adoption processes in place to protect the animals against unforeseen incidents, says one of the organizers Kowmari..
In 2020, iAdopt was officially registered as an NGO, and the team began conducting adoption drives across Chennai. The team believes in responsible pet parenting and has introduced an innovative foster-based animal adoption procedure without practically having a shelter. iAdopt’s team has independently homed 800+ pups, kittens and dogs in the last three years.
Besides they have also worked closely with other pet adoption groups to help them with their adoption activities, and in educating families on various aspects involving pets.

The Paw-llywood Fest is also an opportunity for businesses to spread awareness about their pet friendly brand. The organisation offers space for store owners or managers to set up stalls. All rents from these stalls will be used towards the welfare of dogs and cats in need.
